In-state showcase scheduled for Nov. 21
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee men's basketball team will play host to national power Tennessee during an in-state showdown, Nov. 21, as part of the 2008-09 season-ticket package. It will mark Tennessee's first visit to Murfreesboro for a regular-season contest. The only other meeting between the teams at Middle Tennessee's Murphy Center took place in 1988 when the Blue Raiders beat the Volunteers, 85-80, in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Kermit Davis had two items atop his wish list during the recent recruiting period and the veteran Middle Tennessee men's basketball coach was able to achieve both when the NCAA late signing period began Wednesday. Davis announced the signing of guard Eric Allen and post Josh Jones to national letters of intent Wednesday, filling a pair of needs.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee men's basketball coach Kermit Davis has been named the Sun Belt Coach of the Year by collegeinsider.com after leading the Blue Raiders to a school-record for conference wins and taking his team to league's tournament title game last month. The Blue Raiders won 11 of their last 14 and captured 14 wins against Sun Belt Conference teams - the most league wins ever for a Middle Tennessee team in a single-season.
