Join the BRAA

There are many ways to support Blue Raider Athletics. Listed below are many ways you can contribute to the Blue Raider Athletic Association.

CASH GIFTS

An unrestricted cash contribution grants the athletic department the discretion to use the money where it is needed most. One also has the option of restricting the money to any of the 16 sports at Middle Tennessee. BRAA members may select their method and time of payment.

CREDIT CARDS

The BRAA accepts Visa and Mastercard for pledge payments. You must list the name of cardholder, account number, expiration date and the cardholders signature.

MATCHING GIFTS

The company you work for could assist you in increasing your level of giving with a matching gift. Your donor gift along with your company's matching gift equals your total annual gift and qualifies you for benefits at that level. Many companies match athletics. Check with your employer.

ENDOWMENTS

Ensure the future of the athletic program at Middle Tennessee with a gift to the athletic endowment fund. Opportunities exist to name a scholarship in a specific sport or contribute to other areas of endowment through cash, bequests, trusts or life insurance. Endowed gifts provide ongoing benefits for Middle Tennessee athletic programs. Contact the BRAA office for details.

PLANNED GIFTS

The BRAA will consider planned gifts such as stocks, bonds, and real estate. Other examples of planned gifts include charitable trusts, life insurance and bequests. Donors should have their legal or financial advisors work with the BRAA office and the Middle Tennessee foundation in making planned gift arrangements.

GIFT-IN-KIND

Providing goods and services in lieu of cash gifts is another way to show your support and help to greatly reduce athletic department expenditures. Donations of items that normally would have to be purchased (such as meals, catering, printing, equipment and other commodities) produce a savings to the overall athletic budget.

TAX STATEMENT

Your gift to the BRAA is tax deductible. However, according to IRS guidelines, institutions such as Middle Tennessee have the responsibility of advising the donors of the fair market value of goods and services received in recognition of your gift. Your gift acknowledgment will contain this information. Consult your tax advisor for more information. If your contribution allows you to purchase priority seating at athletic events, the IRS allows only 80 percent as a tax deduction.
