BEIJING - The Netherlands and former Blue Raider baseball player Tjerk Smeets fell 14-3 to Cuba in its fifth preliminary game of the 2008 Olympic games.

The Netherlands had 10 hits in the game against Cuba and led 2-1 going into the fifth inning. Cuba broke it open in the bottom of the fifth scoring five runs and then added four more runs in the sixth and eighth innings.
