MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Director of Athletics Chris Massaro announced today the game times for the 2008 Blue Raider home football schedule.
The season opener on August 28 against conference foe Troy will kickoff at 6:30 PM and will be televised by ESPN Regional. The Blue Raiders lead the overall series 11-4 and own a 7-2 mark at Floyd Stadium against the Trojans.
On September 6, the Maryland Terrapins will be the second team in as many years from the ACC to visit Murfreesboro following last year's contest against Virginia. The Blue Raiders and Terps will get underway at 6 PM and the game will be shown on CSS TV and cover the entire South and Mid-Atlantic region.
The Blue Raiders will host defending conference champion Florida Atlantic on ESPN2 Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7 PM in what will be promoted as 'Black-Out' night. It will mark the sixth national broadcast for the Blue Raiders under Rick Stockstill and the first by ESPN or ESPN2 from Floyd Stadium.
Middle Tennessee will conclude its home schedule with a November 8 date against Louisiana-Monroe (Homecoming) and a November 22 contest against North Texas. Both games are slated for 2:30 PM starts.
"Our first three home games were dictated by television, which we are very excited about, and we went with our traditional time of 2:30 for our November games," said Massaro. "This is a great home schedule and one our fans should find very entertaining and exciting."
The Blue Raiders will report to preseason camp on August 1 and will practice for the first time on August 2.
