MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The fall Division I U.S. Sports Academy Directors' Cup standings was released on Thursday and Middle Tennessee is tied for 72nd overall with Tennessee and South Florida. The Blue Raiders and Vols are the top ranked institutions from the state of Tennessee.
California is the overall leader, of the 328 Division I schools, with 325 points followed closely by Stanford at 315 points.
The Blue Raiders currently have 64 points based on the strength of an outstanding NCAA Tournament run by the volleyball team and have the most points of any Sun Belt Conference member.
Middle Tennessee is ahead of such programs as North Carolina State (80), Central Florida (81), Kansas State (81), Oklahoma (81), Texas A&M (81), Texas Tech (102), Kentucky (103), Memphis (103), Mississippi (103), and South Carolina (103).
The final fall standings will be released on January 10, 2008.
